Service Learning Partnerships

This past 2023-2024 school year, we partnered with the Child and Adolescent Department to host the ChAD 152 Practicum students. Our Center provided a high-quality play-based educational setting for 菠菜网lol正规平台 students to observe, support, and implement their curriculum. Together they completed 1120 service-learning hours in our preschool classrooms to support their program requirements.  We had 28 students in the Fall 2023 and 28 students in the Spring 2024.

This Fall 2024 semester, the Preschool full-time Educators are supporting the development of 29 CHAD 152 Practicum students throughout the school day.

We are also piloting supporting the mentorship of a PK-3 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Specialist Instruction Credential. PK-3 Educators are expected to design, implement, and facilitate learning activities that engage students according to their developmental needs.

All ASCDC staff hold current child development permits from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and a bachelor's Degree in Child & Adolescent Development, or a related field.

Collaborate with the ASCDC

Is your organization looking to give back to a local non-profit? Corporate community volunteer work is also welcomed. Corporate volunteer hours do not have to be child-centric and can be as generous as helping us revitalize our garden (e.g. donating flowers/plants, pots, & soil) and collaborating with your team's volunteers to help put the donation together.

If your organization is looking to collaborate with the Child Development Center, please contact us via the AS Child Development Center Mailbox (as-cdc@hghgjm.com) with a brief description of your interest.

Volunteers and Service Learning students are also welcome to express interest via the email above.
